Welding is the process of joining two or more metal parts using different welding devices or equipment, each of which operates in its own way. Welding machines are selected depending on the scope of work and the type of welding material. The welding process itself is carried out by melting a part of the parts, by heating the edges with an electric arc. Nowadays, there are a large number of different welding machines that are used both at home and in production.
Industrial welding equipment, on the other hand, is quite impressive in size, power, and application. They are installed permanently and can weld thicker metals. Welding with such devices is performed using electrodes that are heated by an electric arc. Thus, the electrode heats the parts to be welded to the melting point, as a result of which they adhere to each other. Another well-known welding method is gas welding. When soldering parts, solder is used, which, when melted, spreads between the two parts of the product, solidifies and connects them. Brazing does not require melting the base metal and allows you to unsolder different parts of the part if necessary. However, it is less reliable than welding. The latter makes it possible to form a stable interatomic bond between parts and is widely used in industry, particularly in mechanical engineering. The advantage of welding is significant metal savings and high reliability of such a connection. A distinction is made between pressure and fusion welding. Fusion welding involves the formation of a weld pool of molten metals and their solidification to form a weld. The following methods of fusion welding are widely used: arc, electron beam, laser, electroslag, and gas. Pressure welding involves increasing the ductility of the metal in the welding zone; these parts are heated and compressed. The following pressure welding methods are known: contact, diffusion, electrosound, friction, explosion, etc.
